Staffing & Volunteer Opportunities

Official’s Information - Paid Position
All OBHA referees must attend a certification clinic and pass a written exam in order to officiate within the OBHA. These clinics are offered in February and March every year. The certification is valid for one year, and referees are required to register annually. Upon successful completion of a clinic, referees receive a NBHAC Casebook/Rule book. They will also receive copies of the OBHA Official's Updates called "Technically Speaking". If interested please email or click here to download an application form.

Timekeepers (Minor Officials) - Paid Positions
We are looking for individuals who are interested in becoming a minor official timekeeping in the leagues. Previous experience would be preferred, but our division conveners will train on the job. Reliable transportation required as is a basic knowledge of the rules of the game. Please contact the league if interested.

Coaches Corner (5 Volunteers per Team)
We want you to consider offering your talents and enthusiasm to coach one of our house league teams. If you are willing to give some of your time to provide a valuable service to our children by coaching, please contact Peterborough Minor BHL or simply check off your level of interest on the Registration form.  No certification required.

Conveynor

Minimum of 1 Person per Division (4 in total)

A Conveynor is responsible for looking after a division which includes prepping the games sheets, coordinating the time keepers and referees, and assisting the coaches with completing game sheets. If coaches are unavailable, you may have to be a substitute coach for a game.  A Conveynor would be the first point of contact for inquiries from parents and coaches, and keep the President abreast of all discussions and activities.
